Things people ask before the first call
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Small and midsize businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations — generally teams that need experienced technical judgment without adding a full internal department. If you're not sure you're a fit, ask. We'll tell you honestly, and point you elsewhere if that serves you better.
Is Aegis AI Advisory a different company?
No. Aegis AI Advisory is a registered dba of I am Your Geek LLC — the name we use for our AI advisory work. It's the same company, the same people, and the same contract. You'll see both names on paperwork, and I am Your Geek LLC is the legal entity behind them.
Do I have to use AI to work with you?
Not at all. A fair number of engagements end with "AI isn't the right tool for this part of your work, and here's what is." Knowing where it doesn't help is most of the value.
How do you charge?
Most work is scoped as a fixed-price project or a defined block of advisory hours, agreed in writing before anything starts. You'll know the cost and the deliverable up front. Ongoing support is arranged separately when you want it.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Most of our work happens over video and shared documents, which keeps engagements affordable and scheduling flexible. We're based in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and work with clients wherever they are.
What happens to my data?
We only ask for what an engagement actually requires, we don't sell or share it, and we'll sign a confidentiality agreement whenever you'd like one. See our privacy policy for the details.
